David A. Palella founded BioScience Ventures, Inc. in 1991 in San Francisco, California, orginally as "Japan BioScience Ventures." David has been active in Japan-U.S. business since 1983 and lived in Japan for over three years during the 1980's. He is a frequent invited speaker at biopharma alliance conferences including BioWest (on the topic of "U.S.-Japan Cross-border Biomedical Transactions in the '90s"); BIO ("New Paradigms for Japan-U.S. Alliances in the 21st Century"); Licensing Opportunities in the Bio/Pharma Industry Conference ("Establishing a Strategic Alliance in Japan"); and the LA Venture Association ("Pacific Rim Strategic Alliances"). BioScience Ventures, Inc. specializes in facilitating corporate alliances and in- and out-licensing of novel therapeutic compounds, vaccines and diagnostic products between Japanese, U.S., Canadian and European biopharmaceutical and diagnostic companies.
